March In Like A Lamb, Out Like A Lion

We are thawing out from a cold, snowy weekend. The past couple weeks have been busy, but it shows signs of only getting busier.

Not sure how much updating I’ll get around to, but need to spend some of my time on other things right now.

Photo Of The Week

Note: Not in Shrewsbury. And taken with a Blackberry. (shiver)

Nothing like 800 years to build. Must have been a union job.

Cologne Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church in Cologne, Germany. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne and the administration of the Archdiocese of Cologne.

Construction of Cologne Cathedral commenced in 1248 and was halted in 1473, leaving it unfinished. Work restarted in the 19th century and was completed, to the original plan, in 1880. It is 144.5 metres (474 ft) long, 86.5 m (284 ft) wide and its towers are approximately 157 m (515 ft) tall.[3] The cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and has the second-tallest spires and largest facade of any church in the world. The choir has the largest height to width ratio, 3.6:1, of any medieval church.

Weekend Shenanigans & Pinterest Problems

I seriously have a Pinterest problem. I did not one, two, but three Pinterest activities. It reminds me of being addicted to Michael’s craft store when I was a kid.

Pardon the pics, I am clearly not a foodie or craft blogger. eesh.

St Patty’s Day Gift Bottles: Or home decor. Not a big fan of Skittles so this rainbow is still around the house.

Baked Banana Blueberry Oatmeal Recipe: OK this was really good. Great fuel for our morning run. It was a big family weekend around here.

Mini Omelet Muffins: Not a big fan of eggs but this is one way to get me to eat them.

And you won’t see a pic of the St Patrick’s Day Rice Krispie Treats because they turned out the colour of camo and looked like German war paraphernalia. We will leave it at that.

We had rain, snow, sun, the works. Thank you, England. The sun, when it did participate, was relatively warm and we enjoyed an impromptu picnic in the park.

Three Month Anniversary

IMG_1913

Age: 3 months
Height: 25 inches
Weight: 13 (ish) lbs

Milestones: Grabby grabberson. Mouth = place where hands should go. This coconut is learning how to use his hands. He’s grabbing on to everything and working those motor skills. We grew out of of “under 3 months” clothing weeks ago.
Best Moment: When he sits up and looks around. Strong neck and head, although he kind of Steve Wonders around a bit, it’s precious. No longer eat, sleep, cry, repeat; Rye can hang out now and must likes to be entertained.
Worst Moment: 12 week jabs, ugh. Realising he’s been ready for a crib. Mum is not ready to kick him out of our room yet. #sadface
Eating: 3 months on glorious breast milk. Can I nominate myself for the Medal of Honor? It’s hard but incredibly rewarding at the same time.
Notables: Sleeping like a champ. This past month it seems he’s grown a ton (more) and developed a stronger personality. He loves to run with me and BOB is a great nanny.

It’s hard to believe but if I was in the states, I’d be going back to work. Something I can’t imagine. I thank every star above to have the opportunity to be home with him. He’s playing with us more and it would be hard to leave him now and miss all the fun stuff we do during the day.

March is proving to be a busy month, but wait until April. I’m working up courage to fly the peanut home. Holy help me.

Now, let me unload the pics I’ve been stuffing on my iPhone.

On My Mind

grumpy-cat-meme1
Grumpy cat don’t care.
White smoke…for some. The new Pope is kinda funny. I get goosebumps seeing all the crowds gather at Saint Peter’s Square. Pictures can’t do Rome justice.
Thinking vintage.
Of Monsters & Men. Repeat.
Ready for St Patrick’s Day. Have some green tricks up my sleeve.
Maybe you need yoga for your anger management. This will make you think twice before booting of that slow poke on the treadmill.
Never underestimate Poundland.
Turns out I could have been a designer for the Vatican.
Beware the ides of March. #forreal

Five Things

1. It’s was Mothering Day this past Sunday. I’ll be celebrating this holiday twice this year. #thankyaverymuch Andrew and I kept thinking we needed to call our moms back in the states.

2. I’m Nichole, I have a Pinterest problem. I’ve turned into a recipe hunter. If I could get my hands on my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and some US Betty Crocker I’d show you what was up. And don’t get me started on holiday ideas. I’ve been bitten by the artsy fartsy bug.

3. Downton Abbey has turned into a soap opera. Finally got my hands on Season 3. I wish I had a Carson.

4. This weekend marks the start of F1 Season and England v Wales in 6 Nations Rugby. Top that with St Patrick’s day and I’m spent. #teamkimi

5. Justin Timberlake hosted SNL for the 5th time. There’s a damn good reason he’s been on there that many times. I might not care for some of his films, but he is a riot on the show. Since the UK net nanny prevents me from seeing a lot of the clips I had to whip out Macgyver and viola! My fave skit – Bring it on down to Veganville.

On My Mind

Watching paint dry.
People are finally realising Bieber is a massive dbag.
Thankful for a babe that sleeps through the night and lets us go out and enjoy fun dates with mates.
ZOMG this weather.
Could live in my husband’s Patagucci Patagonia tees.
After watching Zero Dark Thirty I want to know more about Seal Team Six. #BAMF
