Answer Phone Messages

Listening to BBC Radio 1 this morning they got on the subject of how many voicemails they have unheard on their phone. Nobody wants to listen to voicemails.

The great thing about mobile phone technology, it shows who called and at what time! What’s the point of leaving a message, especially the ones saying, “Hey, it’s me. Call me back.” [you know who you are.]

There’s your public service announcement for the day. Do us all a favor and stop leaving messages.

Midweek Madness

The weekend was brill. If I tell you the weather was wonderful it will turn crap. Ryder and I took full advantage with walks and drinks outdoors. Xx indeed February!

It’s amazing how people’s attitudes change with a bit of sunshine. Hints of Easter have arrived with tulip sprouts and chocolate eggs.

The stateside family got together for the long weekend and the pics were HIGHlarious. I’m still trying to figure out how they talked my dad into going to Universal. The man is smiling at Hogwarts! Magic indeed.

Nothing like a weekend update midweek. The days blend together.

Two Month Anniversary

Age: 2 months
Height: 23 inches
Weight: 10.13 lbs

Milestones: The coos and smiles are coming more regularly. We’ve found our hands.
Best Moment: Celebrating the many firsts, like Valentine’s Day.
Worst Moment: We started the round of immunizations. A-w-f-u-l. He was upset, fever, the works.
Eating: All the time?
Notables: He loves to be outside and be moving. He is his father’s son. He definitely recognises mum and dad’s voices. Grasping things like crazy; goodbye necklaces.

It’s hard to believe he’s only nine weeks old. At times it feels like we’ve known him much longer. Counting down the days to when he gets to meet the rest of his extended stateside family. I think I can muster up the courage to fly with a newborn soon.

We continue to celebrate and be thankful for each healthy day.

Preach On

What a week, kids. We lost a loved one and it’s a hard reminder that life moves quick.

This week has been kind of tough regardless, with the lil guy and other stuff going on. Thank goodness for warmer weather and sunshine, otherwise I’d be looking for the nearest hole to crawl into.

Dating My Husband – Happy Valentine’s Day

Some say Valentine’s Day is a stupid holiday invented by Hallmark. It’s commercial, but it’s also a chance for you to make special time to spoil and fuss over someone you care about. Single, relationship, whatever, enjoy the holiday with friends or loved ones.

Get out there and love up on someone!

The plans I’ve been making keep getting sidetracked but I’m hopeful to pop some bubbly with the mans soon.

I attempted to create an uber cute Valentine with Rye, but it ended up looking like we squished Cupid. I did learn how to make homemade finger paint if anyone is interested. Pinterest 1, Me 0.

Anyways, this peanut stole my heart this Valentine’s.

To my Valentine of 10 years – thanks for the adventures. Looking forward to loads more, luvah!

And to my Valentine’s across the pond, misses!

On My Mind

This week needs to go on and move along.
Ryder’s first jabs were m-i-s-e-r-a-b-l-e. Tears, fever, and feisty. Poor peanut.
The Bitter Barista is highlarious. “That lid is not gonna fit on that cup. But the real issue is that you apparently have the spatial-reasoning skills of a 3-year old.”
Let’s see if my Valentine’s craft idea works. If not, Pinterest can get bent.

I’d like to thank Trisha Yearwood for her American thick pancake recipe, which made this year’s Pancake Day a success. Last year I realised it should be called Crepe Day.
First Photos of Kate Middleton’s Bare Baby Bump Published in Italian Gossip Magazine. Well at least she had her top on. And I’m pretty sure she looks like me after a Thanksgiving meal. How far along is she?

The Burlap Bag is filled with some unique ideas.

The XX

Since it’s Valentine’s week, how about a lovey addition of Lost In Translation.

I learned quickly here that many of my female friends always end emails or texts with X (or xx, or xxx, or xxxx depending on how we’re feeling). I know back home we’re use to the good old fashion xoxo. Here, X is merely being friendly.

And never too late to give a good gift to your sweetheart. Nothing says love like a giant Valentine’s poster.

It’s No Italy

The hus buggered off to Italy this week, which meant I was experiencing single momdom. It was more rewarding than I thought. Lots of walks, coffees, and play dates (babies attract other similar infant types). Oh, and that fun first visit to the GP.

Things have/are certainly changing. Your days are different, in good and bad ways. This is the most incredible experience and no matter what I say, unless you are a parent it won’t make sense and I’ll be rambling.

“You should bring something into the world that wasn’t in the world before. It doesn’t matter what that is. It doesn’t matter if it’s a table or a film or gardening — everyone should create. You should do something, then sit back and say, “I did that.’” – Ricky Gervais

Now go into the weekend and enjoy. Don’t stop believing, unless your dream is stupid. – Journey.
